Day 31 - Denali, Alaska

Day 31   Friday, July 8, 2011
By Carl & Chris Findley,  Unit 10

Woke up to dreary, overcast day, however, as the day went on the weather improved and it turned out to be a nice sunny day.

A group of us went rafting on the on the Nenana River.  As we suited up the ladies all asked our husbands if our butts looked big in the suits, as good husbands they said NO DEAR ! Some took the 2 hour “sissy trip”, and the rest of us took the 4 hour “brave hearts” trip.  Ken, Carole, Bruce, Gilbert, Robert, and Ron the really brave ones paddled. All of us ladies liked the cute tour guides. They looked real good in their dry suits. They especially liked them when they helped take off the dry suits. After 4 hours in DRY suits the bathrooms had very LONG lines.. A good time was had by all.

At the drivers meeting Spence was presented a picture of a broken RV that he wasn’t there to fix.

After the drivers meeting JW fixed his famous potato chips and fried up a batch of crawfish. Thanks JW, they were so good. The ladies played a card game called “screw your neighbor.” And some played tri-ominos. The guys sat around and talked motorcycles and fishing. After a long day in the land of the midnight sun we moved the picnic tables out of the road and retired for the night.
