A little windy and cool this morning. We were expecting it. The weather forecast called for thunderstorms this afternoon. However, most of the day it was very pleasant. Some more staff members arrived today. Jim and Betty Lenneman, and Skeeter and Pat Craig, who are doing the Northwest Territory trip www.adventurecaravans.com/canada/avc_canada_tours.asp?TCC=57CN2011872 which starts one day after ours does. It is always fun to meet up with other Wagonmasters and Tailgunners. We learn so much from them.
After meeting with Gene and Marge Arnott, and Dick and Beverly Enderlein this morning, Carole and I headed out to do some last-minute shopping in preparation for our get acquainted party on Wednesday. We ran into Ken and Karla at the local WalMart.
After our return we visited with Art and Jill Spierre just before the social started. We really had a big group today, because it included the other staff as well as some of their guests who have arrived early.
While we were sitting around the social area, we saw the funniest thing. There was a car driving up the park road with it's trunk open and a golden lab standing inside the trunk! I guess it rides there a lot because some others had already seen this sight!
By the end of the social hour the skies started getting black, wind picked up, air got a lot cooler. Finally by 6:00 p.m. or so the thunderstorm started. It has passed by pretty quickly and did not produce much rain. Maybe Mother Nature will be kind to us for the next few days. One can hope.............oops update. The thunder and lightening is back and it is raining pretty heavily now. Hope we don't float away!
