Today we went from Whitehorse to Dawson City, the longest distance of the caravan, 337.3 miles, give or take a mile or two. We traveled through towering tree or grass covered mountains and passed many placid lakes. We saw an eagle and a large black bear. We also encountered the colossal cinnamon bun at Braeburn Lodge right across the road from cinnamon bun airstrip. It lived up to its reputation of being the size of a dinner plate and able to feed a family of four. The proprietor (and baker) was pleasant enough to allow a picture of him and his masterpieces.

Down the road a spell, we stopped at Five Fingers Rapids. This was truly a spectacular view. The boat ride we took yesterday gave us a better idea of just how difficult it must have been to navigate the Yukon back in the 1800s.

All in all, the trip took us about eight hours to complete, including stops. The road is getting a bit rougher with more holes and frost heaves. A sign of things to come?
Great pictures! Sounds like you all are doing great. Say hello to Winnie and George Meiser, they are driving the beaver and they are my mom and dad!
