Day 35
By: Janice Crosson and Leslie Kilpatrick
Woke to a brisk cloudy day. We stopped at a view point for Turnagain Arm and the wind was really blowing hard. Took a couple of shots of the tide having gone out. Could not believe how far the water had receded.
When we stopped for much needed gas the line was very short. The only vehicle in front of us were State workers, who you know would never drag around wasting time. Well thirty minutes later it was our turn to gas up! The good thing that came out of that was I had time to check out the bakery. They had ham and cheese croissants which were huge, so we divided one. VERY GOOD!!!
The day turned out to be a nice one after all. The sun came out and there were lots of nice views.
On arriving at the RV park it was our good luck to be one of the folks that got to pull in to our spot. Thank goodness!! It is so very nice to have the ocean for your front yard.
The next thing on the list was to find a good place for dinner. The choice was Captain Patty's. JW and Mary Jo went with us and who do we find already there waiting in line? Mel, Dot, Carl and Chris. They were able to put us at tables next to each other. The food was good and the company as always was fun.
Tomorrow is a big fishing day for some of our folks. I hope everyone catches big fish, weather is great and no one falls off the boat!!
We are planning on taking an off-road trip down East End Road to the beach. One of the locals said it is a pretty good one with several switchbacks and steep inclines. There is a Russian village at the end of the road, but they do not like visitors.
